Animation is an illusion-based street dance style where dancers push the boundaries of precision, timing, and storytelling through movement. Emerging from the popping culture of the West Coast of the United States in the late 1970s and 1980s, animation transforms the body into a living stop-motion film, robot, or cartoon, creating the illusion of mechanical and in-human movement.
