The difference the base material makes is wild to me. Beading cord for the recent band with the chunkier weave, and crochet thread on the older band with the much denser looking woven pattern. Both are strong, but the crochet thread pattern looks much more refined, and takes much longer to weave. The beading cord is good for simple patterns, and over got a bunch of random leftover colors, so it's a good way to use up old materials, and get a simple patterned trim that will be nice and sturdy. #g
