The Sailor's Hornpipe dance heats, held during the 2023 Aboyne Highland Games in Deeside, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. These wonderful Games, which attract thousands of visitors from all over the world, are held annually on the first Saturday in August, and return to Aboyne Green this Saturday, 3rd August 2024. The Sailor's Hornpipe was originally a Celtic dance and one of the Scottish National Dances, originally played on a hornpipe rather than bagpipes. The moves imitate many shipboard activities
