#PandaStory: A Playful Panda Cub

Flurries are s"no"w problem for red panda cubs! ❄️ Mr. Darcy and Dr. Wallace got their first official taste of snow today — with plenty of exploring, snacking, and a cozy nap to follow. ❤️ Red pandas are right at home in cold weather! Native to the temperate mountain forests of the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China, they’re built for snow with thick fur and bushy tails that act like blankets. In fact, East Tennessee’s winters are surprisingly similar to the climate of their native range.

Red Panda Cub Update: "Joe" and "Neo" experienced snow for the first time today! Though it's been snowy in Erie, it didn't get in their enclosure so Keeper Dar brought some in for them to play in! They even had a fun little photo shoot! Snow verdict? "Neo" thought it was fun to jump and play in and "Joe" just wanted to run through it as fast as possible! | Erie Zoo

Red Panda Cub Update: The boys have officially moved to their outside exhibit! Enjoy this litttle clip of their first time outside a couple weeks ago! The keepers worked with the red panda cubs to slowly introduce them to their new home each day. They are enjoying exploring their new space and "Joe" especially likes playing peek-a-boo with visitors! Swing by for a visit!
