Caterpillar molting (ecdysis) is always nothing short of a spectacle to witness, but it’s even cooler when a rare non-native slug caterpillar is doing it. Behold: Monema flavescens, aka the denki mushi! At the beginning of the video, you can see the young denki mushi performing a pumping motion in order to build air pressure between its old and new skin.
