Apple has issued its first Background Security Improvements update for iOS 26.3.1 and macOS 26.3.1 to fix a vulnerability in WebKit.

Apple released iOS 18.1.1, iPadOS 18.1.1, macOS Sequoia 15.1.1 and visionOS 2.1.1 on Tuesday. The updates deal with serious security threats that bad actors apparently already exploited on older Macs.

The first Mac software was called System 1 and it was released on January 24, 1984, and there have been 30 major updates since. Apple rebranded to Mac OS with the release of mac OS 8 on July 26, 1997.
