The North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries says the new regulations are needed due to increases in sheepshead harvest, particularly juvenile fish.
Under the new regulations, the daily recreational catch limit drops from 10 fish to five, and the minimum size requirement increases from 10 inches to 14 inches.
