A bright fireball that streaked across the Ohio sky on Tuesday has been confirmed as a meteor, and it's possible that fragments are now scattered across several counties.

Pieces of a meteorite have now been confirmed in Northeast Ohio following a rare and dramatic fireball that lit up the sky Tuesday morning.

A meteor traveling at around 45,000 mph caused a loud boom over Ohio on March 17, with the sound heard as far away as Pennsylvania.
